FIELD TRIP

ARABIAN SEA COUNTRY CLUB

Camera, check. Shades, check. Refreshments, check. iPod, check. Wallet, check. Spare batteries, check. Chewing gum, check. All set! Ready to go!
That day I woke up before my alarm buzzed, otherwise, I play with the snooze button at least five times, daily, quite religiously. I had packed my bag at night and now just had to bathe and change clothes. Something was different in the air and I could feel it.
I got ready and hurriedly gulped some breakfast, hugged my mother and went down in the car. As I was busy munching on a Kit-Kat, I reached college and went up stairs.
The girls and boys were in their best jeans and shirts, with shades and caps over their head and a flashy smile spread on their faces. They had started taking photos already, and I happily joined in. My Principal Ms. Ayesha was quite excited about the college field trip to Arabian Sea Country Club too.
When everyone collected in college, we boarded the bus. Unexpectedly more people had joined in and inside the bus it became pretty congested, but that still didn’t affect our excitement.
Some boys had to hang by the rod and the bus was pouring people out. There onwards, began the loooonnnggg drive which lasted for nearly two hours.

As soon as Sir Abdullah, Ms. Mehryn and Ms. Ayesha were seated, some of us started singing songs from old Indian movies (surprisingly) while others took out their iPods/iTouch’s and went in their own little world with the ear phones on. There wasn’t any music system in the bus I guess. Nonetheless, the ride was a bit tiring as we had to sit in one place without moving for a lot of time but we tried enjoying and of course, took pictures from many digital cameras.
As we reached our destination, the energy filled back in. We were served tea and plain cake in a classy dining place which wasn’t very formal and accommodated all of us. After that, we were free to explore and have fun in the whole club.
We were a bit confused as to where to start from as we weren’t even sure about what activities we could do there. We had some rough idea though, thanks to the brochure provided by the college for our ease and knowledge. Therefore, we started by running in those huge green grassy fields for golf. The feeling of fresh air hitting the skin is so beautiful, isn’t it?
The A2’s collected at one place and everybody started playing Kho-Kho. It is always fun. The AS soon joined in and then it became an AS vs. A2 game. The A2’s took a lot of time catching us. We sure did give them a hard time.
After the match we distributed all over the place in small groups. The boys went to the gym and exercised while the girls typically continued taking photo’s on different spots. It was a beautiful place.
We also went out searching for a pond or a lake sort of a thing just because we thought it would be cool. I know, pretty foolish when I come to think of it now.
Some of the guys played cricket, dividing up in teams while some people sat like spectators.
Around two o’clock we were served lunch, upstairs in the banquet hall. The food was great. There was pizza, egg fried rice, Manchurian, pasta, four different kinds of salads, prawn tempura with its sauce, spaghetti, mixed vegetables, roti, drinks and for dessert, ice cream and the traditional, gulaab jamun and trifle!
After lunch, my friends and I relaxed on the beach chairs beside the swimming pool. It was really peaceful there with just the four of us, talking endlessly. We wished we had brought swimming costumes with us as well but then we brushed the thought aside when the guys jumped in the pool, half naked, making us jealous. Not because we can’t get naked like them, but because we wanted to do it in privacy (I thought clarification would be good).
Some of the daring people, including a girl, dived from a height of 10 feet, into the 10+ feet deep side of the pool. That part was thrilling as they didn’t know proper swimming and they came out shivering, telling their friends  not to try it but were doing it themselves again.
After relaxing we explored the club and found a Jacuzzi. There were games like foosball, snooker and table tennis in a room as well. Everybody in their circle of friends did their thing time to time and our teachers enjoyed themselves too. There were swings in one ground and we rode fearlessly on them too. That reminded us of our childhood times.

Soon after that it was evening tea time. We were served with tea and biscuits. Some of us took out more eatables from our bags and had them with friends, chatting about how things went earlier and what they did. Then it was packing time. Everybody returned and some people changed clothes as well. And again we boarded the bus. This time my friends and I got a better seat.
The bus ride was fun, needless to mention long. People sang songs, played antakshiri and we reached college. Drivers were waiting to pick us up from there. It was around 7 when I finally came back home and described how everything went to my family. Obviously you can think of what I did next. Shared all photos I had on facebook!
What a day it was!!!
