INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL OLYMPIAD (ISEO)

When we talk about competitions, our college has been participating in many of them and in fact winning them as well. I think our batch is quite lucky. With many more activities added, it also became registered for ISEO this year. Bringing back laurels home has now become our tradition and it happens purely and purely by the tireless efforts of our intellectual students and supportive teachers.

It was a few weeks before only when we all started preparing and getting fueled up day by day. Here and there, anywhere we would go, ISEO would be the hot topic ;)

Chess and scrabble boards were already out. In the other room Tajwer would rehearse for her debate. Echoes of Mansoor's singing would be heard all over the college. On the other hand we the 'junior photographers' as our  friends said would never leave our cameras alone and not a single scene related to our topic was missed by us. I remember how people used to eye us while we took photographs on road sides and under shades of tress and banners.  We had a time of our lives :)

The program started off with a grand opening ceremony after which events started one by one on each day. A five day package starting from 28th-2nd February was completely fun filled and exciting.

Much awaited was the closing ceremony. Every one of us just went crazy to prepare the Looney head gears we had to wear that day. Actually, a new award was introduced from this year. They wanted us to wear the most bizarre hat and win a prize for it. Watching people perform a live kathak dance was something I longed to watch. Girls of KHS gave a marvelous performance, it soothed us a lot. Boys were no less than girls, the whole hall applauded after they did an outstanding hip hop dance. Everything was highly appreciable, while I had a constant urge to go back home and celebrate, after all I had won the photography competition. The event finally came to an end with an extravagant dinner and some memorable pictures.

I would encourage the next year's AS to be a part as well; it’s an opportunity not to be missed. Its one of biggest platform where more than 129 schools and approximately 1200 students take part. It gives you a chance to stand out amongst all the others and let your hidden talents shine.
After interviewing the people who participated, we got the following feedback, here it goes:

"Taking part in ISEO for photography was a wonderful experience. We saw live kathak & break dance and funny and silly looking hats! No matter Winning or not it was the part of fate, but my college’s name and seeing my friend win; hearing her name being called out for the  2nd position in Photography was a moment to remember for a life time" says Zainab, participant of photography.

"Asking me my experience of ISEO is like asking bees about nectar, nothing less remarkable. The best part was that even in ISEO I kept my legacy of attending competitions totally blank and then getting in the limelight by being one of the finalists, made some amazing friends, but what I will always remember was the KACHORI :P " This is what Noor said, he participated in the group discussion.

"My experience at ISEO, in one word, was tiring. I played ten games of chess back to back! The only thing on the bright side is that I won seven of them. But it sure was a lot of fun. It was my first time going for such a reputable chess tournament so I was a little anxious at first. But soon I started winning and my confidence began to rise. I knew I’d lose my last match as soon as it started. After playing for so long with hardly any break, I was exhausted. Not to mention that my opponent was a chain player who was used to such tournaments… But I do not regret it; the experience itself is enough for me. Plus I will be prepared, next time such an opportunity comes!" says Aatir, the participant of chess.

"It was a wonderful experience, the scrabble competition really was a battle of intellectuals and I personally enjoyed it" said Owais, the scrabble player.
